Foreign patients consistently ask the same practical questions before travelling to Busan for urology treatment. This section addresses the questions that determine whether a trip is feasible — not the clinical questions about procedures themselves.
For ED and BPH: send your IIEF-5 score (ED) or IPSS score (BPH) and any relevant diagnostic results (penile Doppler, TRUS ultrasound). For gynecomastia: send frontal and 45-degree profile photos. For penile implant: describe your ED history and what treatments you've already tried. For STD testing: no pre-consultation needed — walk in.
The pre-consultation WhatsApp message can be brief: 'I'm a foreign patient interested in [procedure]. My IIEF-5 score is 9. Can you review my situation and provide a USD quote?' The clinic will respond with preliminary assessment and pricing within 24 hours.
Book flights only after receiving a written USD quote from the clinic and confirming the minimum Busan stay for your procedure. Do not book flights before pre-consultation — the required stay varies significantly by procedure (3 days for circumcision, 14 days for penile implant). Most Busan clinics can accommodate surgery within 1–2 weeks of first contact for most procedures.
Inform your home GP you are travelling for an elective procedure. This is not legally required — but having your GP aware means they are prepared to provide continuity care and receive the discharge summary from Busan. For TRT, hormone treatments, or any prescription medication changes: your GP will need the Busan clinic's English clinical summary to continue prescribing.
