It takes 30 seconds and confirms the most important baseline: the clinic is legally authorised by the Korean Ministry of Health to treat foreign patients.

What Else to Verify Beyond KHIDI

KHIDI is the necessary baseline — not the complete picture. Additional verifications matter for specific procedures:

  • Penile implant: confirm the clinic is an authorised AMS (Boston Scientific) or Coloplast implant facility. AMS authorised centres are listed at bostonscientific.com; Coloplast at coloplast.com.
  • Aquablation: confirm PROCEPT BioRobotics certification at procept-biorobotics.com → Find a Provider. As of 2025: only Seomyeon L Urology in Busan.
  • Surgeon KUA certification: Korean Urological Association board certification confirms the surgeon has completed the full urology training pathway. Equivalent to AUA (USA) or EAU (Europe).

How Long Does KHIDI Registration Last?

KHIDI registration requires periodic renewal. Registration can lapse if the clinic does not renew, changes address, or has a regulatory finding.
